“I never wanted to do radio.” This is what lilD tells people when asked how she started in broadcasting. The contrary couldn’t be truer today, though.
Winning radio rap contests landed her a co-hosting gig on the night show in Shreveport, LA, at KMJJ in 2005. In 2008, she accepted the night position in Toledo, Ohio, at WJZE Hot 97-3. 2011 saw lilD take her talents to Cleveland’s WENZ 107.9, and “Word Eye Heard Radio” was born. She took that hustle to Columbus, Ohio’s WCKX Power 107.5/106.3 in 2015, and was the top-rated night personality her entire three-year duration.
In 2018, lilD became the new face of middays on 97.9 the Beat in Dallas and is ready to bring her hustle, heart, and humanity to the city. lilD also hosts events, volunteers at various community centers, and is a runner currently training for her second half-marathon in December. She’s also a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star and advocates for healthy eating through her vegetarian lifestyle. But what she’s is most proud of is her organization, You Go G.I.R.L. (Grinding In Real Life).
You Go G.I.R.L. is dedicated to helping good girls become great women, and she accomplishes that mission through annual events, community clean-ups, and awareness on her website, GrindingInRealLife.com. With her down-to-earth personality and “keep-it-real” attitude, lilD naturally attracts the target audience. And wherever she chooses to go, success will follow.
Currently a midday host on 97.9 the Beat in Dallas, lilD has been on the airwaves for 15 years, and her knowledge and hands-on critiques have helped several radio personalities, working and aspiring, take their talent to the next level and secure on-air positions. Let lilD help you produce an aircheck that will get you noticed, and get you hired.
